Privacy Policy

Your pages stay yours.

Effective 1 October 2026 · Applies to the TruePx browser extension, its optional truepx-mcp bridge, and this website.

No personal data collected TruePx does not collect, sell or share anything about you.
Everything runs locally All work happens in your browser, on the tab where you turn it on.
No accounts or tracking The extension has no sign-up, no analytics, no ads and no third-party trackers.

What TruePx accesses

  • Only the tab you activate. TruePx runs on a page only after you click its icon, use its keyboard shortcut or its right-click menu item. It reads that page's layout, styles, text, colors, fonts and images to show you measurements and CSS.
  • Optional all-sites access. If you grant it in TruePx Settings, TruePx can take screenshots and load pages inside its responsive viewports on any site. You can revoke this at any time in your browser's extension settings.

What is stored, and where

TruePx stores the following only on your device, in your browser's extension storage:

  • Your preferences, for example grid, viewport sizes, color format and screenshot options.
  • CSS and text edits you make on a page, so they stay after a reload until you revert them. These are saved together with the page's address.
  • Pins (notes you attach to page elements), together with the page's address.

This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.

Network requests

TruePx does not send data to the developer or to any third party. The only network requests it makes are:

  • Requests for resources of the page you are inspecting, such as its stylesheets, images or HTTP headers, when you use a feature that needs them.
  • Link check (SEO tab). Only when you click Check links, TruePx requests each link on the page to read its status code (for example 404 or a redirect). Chrome first asks you to allow TruePx to access sites. Cookies are sent only to the site you are on; nothing about the results leaves your browser.
  • Links in the SEO tab, such as PageSpeed Insights or the Rich Results Test, open that service in a new tab with the page’s address, and only when you click them.
  • Optional AI-agent bridge (MCP). If you choose to connect an AI coding tool, TruePx talks only to the truepx-mcp program running on your own computer (127.0.0.1). The AI tool that starts it, such as Claude Code or Cursor, may send what it receives to its own service under its own privacy policy. The bridge is off unless you set it up.

Clipboard and downloads

When you ask it to, TruePx copies values such as CSS or colors to your clipboard and saves files you choose to download, such as screenshots or images. It does not read your clipboard for any other purpose.

This website

This website (truepx.vercel.app) uses Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, where visitors came from, and general device, browser and approximate location data. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this, and Google processes the data under its privacy policy. You can block it with your browser's privacy settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

This applies only to the website. The TruePx extension itself contains no analytics and sends nothing to the developer.

Children

TruePx is a developer tool and is not directed at children.
